People in The News < Back Compliance : Sarbanes Oxley : Governance EDS Names Roy Condon Chief Risk Officer EDS (NYSE:EDS) announced it has promoted Roy M. Condon to vice president and chief risk officer (CRO), effective November 1. Condon will fill a newly created position, reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Mike Jordan.
Additionally, Condon will be responsible for all aspects of EDS' policies and strategies globally for risk management and governance, including oversight of all operational risk management activities. "Given the nature of our business and the sensitivity of client data, EDS has long understood the critical importance of corporate security and risk management," said Mike Jordan. "Roy's strong leadership qualities and two decade track record make him a perfect choice for this role." In his previous role as security and privacy officer for EDS, Condon was responsible for crisis management, physical security, investigations, emergency first response, data protection, privacy, standards, policy and education. He consolidated four of EDS' critical global security operations into the Chief Security and Privacy Office (CSPO). The CSPO provides consistent interpretation and policy guidelines to EDS and its clients around regulatory requirements including Basel II, Sarbanes-Oxley, EU Standards and the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA). Condon currently serves on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Information Network-Critical Infrastructure (HSIN-CI) national infrastructure advisory panel, and consults governmental agencies on private sector critical infrastructure issues. Prior to joining EDS in 2001, Condon served for over 20 years with IBM in a variety of global security and management positions. In these roles, he developed, directed and managed the global implementation of security practices, benchmarking, and tracking metrics. Condon earned a bachelor's degree in criminology from Florida Atlantic University. |
